East End Quiet Zone. The Greater East End District helped celebrate the East End's first Quiet Zone with constituents and residents in the Canal-Runnels-Navigation area on March 4. Stimulus Funds. The Houston-Galveston Area Council has announced that the Greater East End District will receive $5 million in stimulus funds to be used for improvements to the pedestrian environment near transit.
