East End Recycling

We hope you’ll find useful information here about recycling, shredding, and collection locations in the East End:

RECYCLE 24-7 IN THE EAST END. Recycle paper, plastic, aluminum, glass! The WeCANRecycle center at 723 N. Drennen is open 7 days a week. Look for the big sunflower mural on the wall. More information: 832.659.0168 www.wecanrecycle.org

East End residents can take household recyclables and much more to the City of Houston’s depository at 2240 Central Street, 77017.
Each user can bring items to the depository up to four times per month, and must provide proof of residency (Texas driver’s license or a  current utility bill or city property tax receipt). THERE IS NO CHARGE TO RESIDENTS TO USE THE DEPOSITORY!  The following items are acceptable:

  • Furniture
  • Tree Waste
  • Stoves
  • Refrigerators, etc.
  • Up to four (4) automobile tires (Rims Not Accepted) per month, per household
  • Aluminum, tin, empty aerosol cans
  • #1 through #7 plastics, but no toys, packing materials, styrofoam, flower pots, or plastic furniture
  • Newspapers, magazines
  • Clear and colored glass bottles and jars
  • Cardboard

 The depository won’t take household garbage or building materials. Commercial vehicles will not be admitted. Trash from commercial haulers not accepted.
