East End Forum
Dr. Stephen Klineberg of the Urban Research Center,Rice University, presented "Houston's Future: The Results of the 2010 Houston Area Survey" to 150 luncheon guests at the University of Houston Hilton on May 20.
The 2010 survey asked where will we put the 1 million projected new Houstonians by 2030, and 80% of the respondents thought the city should redevelop older neighborhoods. Dr. Klineberg also noted that a majority of the respondents prefer public investment in transit over public investment in roads as a solution to congestion.
